- As for the blog's name: -

I was @ Gustav Ericsson's sight, - Anzenkai, and I was looking at Nishijima Roshi’s calligraphies over there. Particularly there is one - "seki shin hen pen" - about which Gustav has earlier said in a blog post that it is Nishijima's favorite phrase from Master Dogen.

This seemed strange to me. It was not what I would expect Nishijima Roshi's favorite phrase to be. It seemed it could be some Rinzai master's favorite quote, - it seems to express continuous and constant sincerity, - but it did not seem to fit my view of the way Nishijima Roshi saw things.

So - consequently - I tried to think what would I expect his favorite quote to be. But all phrases I could think of did not seem to fit just what I might have had in mind.

So I tried to come up with what I would see it as, - and what I have come up with - is - "this universe out here".

- And this seems to be the right name for this blog here too.

- Definitely.                                                 ________________________

- - - the Value of Love - - -

The only value of love is in bringing self knowledge to others. There is nothing else to bring. At a point where this is fully actualized love will have no further value.

There will apparently be no thing as “love” to speak about, - since there will not be duality any more. - If there is only one, - whoever or whatever he or she or it is, - what love might you refer to?

- It seems the most essential thing to come to is what you might call self knowledge. - There are many references to enlightenment, - but it seems the one closest to what it is is about this. - Whatever it is knowing itself as whatever it is. - That is yourself, or myself, - knowing itself as yourself or myself. - Some might say God is almighty, - but what is he almighty about, - this delusionary world or universe we live in? Wtf. - All it’s good for is coming to this self knowledge. Otherwise it seems all words would never have come into existence. Or, if you like, - not even into any delusionary appearance. Ramana Maharshi says the only true miracle is purifying a man’s (or a woman’s) mind. It may perhaps be put more exactly but the idea is what the issue here is. - You might refer to the Sixth Patriarch’s famous poem, - if dust and dirt don’t exist anywhere, - what is it that we are working for? Sawaki Rōshi says the night trains carry you even though you are sleeping, - but still. - I don’t fully understand. Or perhaps even this can not be said since in the end it will be revealed I did understand from the start. Wft again. - But if we do wish to communicate something - even to ourselves, - as I said, - it seems referring to “knowing” what we are would be the closest. It certainly makes sense. - Though it may be still somewhat unclear in what manner are we able to be ignorant in this sense. Plus “knowing” quite clearly does not exist in the most people think of it, - it seems it may as experience only, - but I can drop it at that. See? Here I do. End.
